Hello!! I want to start out by saying thank you for your interest in me and what I have to say. This is my first blog and I am no English major but I did want to start this blog to share my journey with everyone. My name is Shayna. I am a 32-year-old mother of three. I have a six-year-old daughter and two boys under two. and let me tell you things get crazy and very stressful from time to time. I’m from a little town in Indiana called Eaton I lived there until I was 14. When I was 14 my mother remarried and moved to Maryland I however decided to live with my grandparents in Muncie, Indiana. At the age of 16 I decided to move with my mother to Alabama. growing up I was raised in a Pentecostal church. When I was younger we would go to church every Sunday but then when I was about six or seven we stopped going. I still maintain most of the Penecostal beliefs with a few exceptions. I believe that the most important part of being a spiritual person is your relationship with God. I believe that you don’t always have to go to church to have that relationship with God. I’ve never been one to push God on people, But I will tell them how awesome he is. I also respect everyone’s beliefs and their point of views. We don’t have to agree to get along. You can have your belief or opinion and I can have mine and we can still be friends. In this blog I don’t want to go into great detail about my past I just want to give a little overview of me and how my journey began.

One night as I was scrolling through my TickTock I came across this video and it Mentioned Roadtoroses, so I decided to check this girl out. I was scrolling through her page and watching her videos and it’s like a lightbulb turned on. She was talking about how your mind is so powerful that it is like a magnet. If you change the way your brain thinks to be positive instead of listening to that negative little voice in your head you can attract what you want. If you think positive and send out positive vibes your magnet is going to attract so many great things anything that you want you can get just buy your mind. Naturally I started thinking, like you know what this girl is actually giving scientific facts to prove her point I have to do more researc. I definitely recommend if you have TikTok to go check out roadtoroses. in her videos she recommended A few books. The first book that I decided to check out was A book about how to heal trauma called the body keeps the score. Reading this book I got so much insight into how the brain actually works it was crazy. this book actually teaches you how your brain works on trauma and how to heal your trauma.

I took this girls videos with all of her knowledge, I read this book on how to fix my trauma, and I did a little research. I learned about affirmations and how powerful they can be in changing the way your brain thinks. With all this information and my spiritual background I decided to start a journey to better myself. I want to actually learn how to control my emotions, to be a kinder person, be a better mom, achieve the success I want, and be able to afford the life that I deserve.

If you’re still reading then I hope you’re in the right place. I’ve found that it’s very hard to find like-minded people to share my newfound knowledge and my experience with. Starting this space I was hoping to share my experience and my knowledge with people who genuinely need it and want to hear what I have to say. I hope to help other people in my same position. I mean after all there’s nothing wrong with trying to be a better person, right?

In this book the Author talks about the brain and how trauma can affect you even when you don’t even realize it. He talks about studies on patients with PTSD and how their underlying trauma can be resolved to help you live a normal life. I also learned that the cry it out method for babies causes them to change their own nature to adapt to their mother. Being a mom-of-thtee that would’ve be nice to know seven years ago, but hey maybe I can share my knowledge. By learning how your trauma affects your brain there are a couple of ways to approach healing your brain. I highly recommend reading this book because I can explain it but there’s nothing like actually reading the book ( or listening to it). For me the most helpful advice for healing and starting to move on was “In order to heal and move past the past, you must be fully grounded to the present and know that the past is the past.” and with that advice I decided to examine My life, find the source of my trauma, heal it, and completely change the way my brain thinks to help me have a more fulfilling life, be a better mother (YOU trauma can be pasted to your children), be a more spiritual person, reconnect with my partner, and be able to move forward and live in the present.

So now I know what I need to do…How do I do it?🤔I know I had to get a plan. So I did what I always do when I don’t know how to do something, I googled it. I learned about affirmations and how to successfully use them. I went to pinterest to get ideas on how to become more organized in my home, life, and mind. I got ideas of great affirmations from Pinterest and on my apple music (I will post links on my website of playlists, books, and just other things I love and use). I got a monthly/yearly planner to help keep track of important date such as birthday, doctors appoints, bill due dates, court dates, and deadlines. I bought a journal with sticky notes in the front to makes lists, write down my goals (I broke mine down into monthly goals and yearly goals), and write my own affirmations. Now I knew what I had to do and some ideas on how to do it, I went to work!

I started getting to know myself and be more aware of how I was feeling in my present. started asking myself questions like how does my soul feel, is it heavy, light, does it feel anxious; what sensations am I feeling; what smells do I smell; if I’m sitting how does my body feel on the seat. I started to feel more in tune with body and soul than I ever have. I started to be able to feel the energy of things around me and the energy of people around me. I noticed certain music would make me feel anxious and heavy while others made me feel joy. I could feel the positive energy flowing to me as I listened to to my good vibe playlist. I would close my eyes and imagine who I want to be. What type of mom do I want to be? How can I be a kinder, more empathetic person? What are my short term and long term goals? What do I want out of life? Journaling helped to get my thoughts out and be more aware of my feelings, the sense of getting my story out there didn’t hurt either.

Once I started this process things started flowing easy and almost felt effortless. I use to sit and wreck my brain on ideas to bring in extra cash. Being a stay at home mom is great, but not when you want to splurge on a family vacation or buy new clothes for the whole family. I started coming across videos on TikTok of side hustle jobs. One video in particular caught my attention and I decided to check it out. I went to the website and quickly started learning how to make and sell planners and journals. What better way to make money than make my own journals then sell them digitally? then i started thinking I’m going to write a book, better yet how about a blog, and here we are. Although my journey has just began, I look forward to sharing my inner thoughts, my insight, and my life with you!
